Elandri is a South African-born construction law specialist and registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), and a member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE). She holds a Master of Construction Law from the University of Melbourne, where she specialised in public-private partnership law, joint ventures in the resources sector, payment matters, remedies in the construction context, and international construction law — graduating with the prestigious Corrs Chambers Westgarth Award for top performance in Remedies in the Construction Context.
Her career spans more than 17 years across two disciplines: a decade as a practicing civil engineer, building expertise in municipal services planning and design and playing varied roles in Public-Private Partnership projects, followed by seven years as in-house counsel for the Surbana Jurong Group of Companies, including SMEC International and SMEC South Africa, where she reviewed and negotiated various contracts and advised project teams on contract administration, dispute resolution, insurance, and claims management.
It is this rare dual fluency in engineering and law that sets her apart, giving her a depth of insight that few construction law practitioners can offer.
Today, she leads Sidebar Org Pty Ltd as Director and Construction Law Specialist, assisting clients with contract review and negotiation, contract administration, and dispute resolution. Fluent in both Afrikaans and English, Elandri is passionate about delivering well-researched, project-specific advice.
